On Wednesday 21 January, the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) officially opened the doors to Tweedie Hall, its fourth home in 175 years.

This year’s 175th anniversary Royal Agricultural Show (29 May–3 June 2026) will see a return of the prestigious Royal Fat Stock Show and Royal Carcass Competition, in the beautiful surroundings of our new home, Tweedie Hall.

On a bright, sunny December 16, the Royal Agricultural Society opened its beautiful new home at the historic Tweedie Hall in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands with a warm public welcome to the Royal Tea Garden.

Following a stellar performance in Saturday’s on-the-hoof judging at the Royal Fat Stock Show at Lions River Sale Yard, Mich Turner’s Wanstead Dormers continued to excel in the Champion Lamb Group and Super Lamb classes at the 2025 Royal Carcass Competition.

Justin Fyvie of Five Star Santa Gertrudis was awarded the 2025 Royal Show Super Ox Champion Carcass title at the 2025 Royal Carcass Competition. Fyvie’s Champion Santa Gertrudis also performed impressively in the on-the-hoof judging, where it secured the First Reserve Champion Super Ox title.

At the 2025 Royal Fat Stock Show and Carcass Competition, Christo Dorfling’s Dorfling Dorpers from Weenen accomplished the extraordinary feat of securing the Champion Super Lamb title both on the hoof and on the hook.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Natal (RAS) has purchased the historic Tweedie Hall in Howick as its new base of operations. The signing of this deal on 2 October, 2025 sees the convergence of two histories that go back to the beginnings of commercial agriculture in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.
