The 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 will take place on 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the Royal Agricultural Show’s Tweedie Showgrounds.
This year’s competition is focused on 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲, 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀-𝗳𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 — practical females brought directly from the veld, judged for the qualities that matter in real breeding herds.
Because of the timing of the October Show, there will be one class this year:
𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 — 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
This is not a stud-heifer show. The cattle are not halter-trained, not show-conditioned, and not brought in for long periods. They come from their veld camps for judging, then return immediately — a true veld-to-judging-ring competition.All heifer types are welcome: 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀. Judges will be looking for 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
The champions will be crowned the 𝗥𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗭𝗡 and will receive a cash prize.
This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase beautiful, practical heifers — especially those types and breeds that do not always get exposure in the show ring.
