In our 175th anniversary year, we’re thrilled to welcome KhakiBush to the 2026 Royal Show.
The RAS has been around since 1851, making its way through wars, rinderpest, economic hardship and enormous changes in agriculture — plus a few occasions when common sense might have suggested giving up and staying home.
We didn’t. We kept going.
Which is probably why KhakiBush, a brand built around Africa, adventure, 4x4s, the outdoors, self-reliance and doing things properly, feels at home here.

For 2026, we’ve created the Bull Pen a new areabuilt around 4×4s, outdoor living, adventure, equipment and braai culture — and KhakiBush has come on board as its inaugural naming sponsor.
At the heart of The KhakiBush Bull Pen is our new 4×4 experience, where visitors can climb aboard and tackle the purpose-built track with experienced drivers.
Halfway Toyota Howick, Key Pietermaritzburg and Metro Car Sales will be out in force, and visitors can admire beautifully customised Land Rover Defenders by Bhejane Customs too.

Who will become the
2026 Champion of the Coals?
The heat is coming to the Royal Show as the BraaiBoss Challenge fires up in the KhakiBush Bull Pen!
This is not a competition for professional chefs. It is about passionate braaiers who know their way around a fire, can think on their feet and have the creativity, confidence and gees to produce something special when the pressure is on.
Competitors will cook live in front of the judges and Royal Show crowds, tackling a series of braai challenges designed to test far more than one favourite recipe. With no opportunity to prepare everything beforehand, they will need to manage their fires, their ingredients, their time — and their nerves.
And great flavour alone won’t necessarily be enough.
Judging takes into account taste, creativity, time management, cleanliness and gees, making Braai Boss as much about the complete braai experience as the final plate.
The Royal Show forms part of the road towards crowning the 2026 Champion of the Coals, so there will be plenty at stake when the fires are lit.
Expect smoke. Expect pressure. Expect a few surprises.
And expect some seriously competitive braaiing.
