Over the past 175 years, the Royal Agricultural Society has called 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 different showgrounds home — each one reflecting a new chapter in the Society’s remarkable story of growth, adaptation and resilience.
From the Town Gardens, Market Square and Carbineers Drill Hall in Pietermaritzburg, to the much-loved Pietermaritzburg Showgrounds, and now to our new Royal Showgrounds at Tweedie Hall, the Society has continued to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in agricultural excellence and community.
As we look ahead to the 175th commemorative Royal Agricultural Show in October this year, we honour the places, people and traditions that have shaped this extraordinary legacy.
The 175th commemorative Royal Agricultural Show will take place from 7–11 October 2026, at Tweedie Hall in the KZN Midlands — the beautiful new home of the Royal Agricultural Society.
