New RAS GM attends the Poultry Show

Tim Nixon (left), Royal Agricultural Society President and Secretary of the Natal and Coast Poultry Club, welcomes Wayne Muller, the newly appointed General Manager of the Royal Agricultural Society, to the Club's annual poultry show.

On Saturday, the newly appointed General Manager of the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS), Wayne Muller, attended the Natal and Coast Poultry Club’s annual poultry show to show his support and admire the impressive array of poultry on display.

Muller officially begins his duties on 1 July, but made a head start by taking this opportunity to connect with KwaZulu-Natal's poultry-breeding community.

The event showcased a diverse array of poultry, including chicken breeds like Silkies, Aseels, Indian Game, Orpingtons, Leghorns, Old English Game, Barbu d’Anvers, Barbu d’Uccle, and Polish; duck breeds like Indian Runner and Call Ducks; goose breeds like Pomeranian and Roman Geese; and other poultry such as turkeys.

The show brought together poultry enthusiasts from across KwaZulu-Natal, from seasoned exhibitors with decades of experience, to young newcomers. It was a wonderful opportunity for participants to showcase their birds, exchange knowledge, and celebrate their shared passion for poultry.

Those interested in getting involved with the activities of the Natal and Coast Poultry Club can contact Tim Nixon at 079 893 8610.
