Honey & Crafts Festival brings a family-friendly R.A.S. Heritage Event to Tweedie Hall
The Honey & Crafts Festival takes place at Tweedie Hall, Howick, on 16 June 2026, from 9am to 4pm, as part of the first group of R.A.S. Heritage Events.
Hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society and the KZN Bee Farmers Association, the festival brings together local honey, crafts, food, refreshments, music and family-friendly activities in a warm winter setting.
Entry to the Honey & Crafts Festival is free. A voluntary donation of R20 at the gate would be appreciated, with donations supporting Midlands Hospice, FreeMe Wildlife Rehabilitation and uMngeni SPCA. Payment options at the gate will include both card and cash.
Visitors can look forward to honey stalls, mead and braggot tasting, apitherapy, displays by the Women’s Institute, floriate, the Woodworkers’ Guild, a children’s art competition, quilting, the Iced Cake Guild, wool and crafts displays and sales, embroidery, food and refreshments, music, and a kids’ zone.
Live entertainment featuring Chris Dust and Jason Hartman will take place from 12 midday until 4pm, adding to the relaxed family atmosphere of the day.
The event reflects the wider purpose of the R.A.S. Heritage Events programme: to celebrate agricultural, rural, craft and community traditions in focused standalone events outside of the annual Royal Show.
The Honey & Crafts Festival is especially well suited to families and visitors looking for an enjoyable Youth Day outing at Tweedie Hall. It also offers an opportunity to support local producers, makers, guilds and community groups, while contributing to three valued local organisations.
The Honey & Crafts Festival is a standalone R.A.S. Heritage Event. The full Royal Agricultural Show, the Society’s annual flagship event, takes place from 7–11 October 2026.
