Hatari’s Dormers on form on the hoof

Hatari Farming's Eric Qibi and Janita Muller were involved hands-on at the 2025 Royal Fat Stock Show.

The Royal Agricultural Society extends warm congratulations to Hatari Farming’s Marius Eksteen, for his impressive achievements at the Royal Fat Stock Show and Carcass Competition’s on-the-hoof lamb judging at Lions River Sale Yard yesterday.

Under the care of Hatari's representative Janita Muller, Eksteen's Dormers excelled in the Individual 45–55kg class with first and third places, and secured third place in the Senior Group (45–55kg).

The Royal Agricultural Society extends heartfelt thanks to Hatari Farming and the Eksteens for making the long trip from Bloemfontein and for their loyal support over many years.

We also wish to thank RPO KZN and AAM Cattle Agents and Auctioneers for their assistance in making this event a success, and SAFJA senior judge Andrew Adams and assistant judge Jonathan Tyler for their professionalism and informative explanations on the day.

The full results of the Royal Fat Stock Show on-the-hoof judging are available here.

The results of the carcass judging will be announced later this week, after judging by Chris Ngeleza of SAMIC at Halaal Fresh Meats Abattoir in Thornville.

The Royal Fat Stock Show remains a proud showcase of agricultural heritage, community spirit, and forward-looking excellence. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another memorable event.
