The KZN Youth Show celebrated its 40th anniversary at the 2023 Royal Show
For four decades, the KZN Youth Show has been cultivating the next generation of farmers, giving them a platform to showcase their skills, and rewarding their efforts throughout the year.
This event has become an integral part of the Royal Show, and this year marked its momentous 40th anniversary.
Over the first weekend of the Royal Show, the KZN Youth Show hosted eight competitive classes: beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits, chickens, pigeons, and auctioneering.
The classes were divided into Junior Junior (under 10 years), Junior (under 14 years), and Senior (under 18 years), ensuring that participants competed with their peers.
These competitions provide a unique opportunity for aspiring farmers to hone their skills and gain valuable recognition.
Participants were tested on their animal preparation, showmanship, and knowledge, with adult assistance during the competitions strictly forbidden.
