We are in for a real treat this year at the Royal Show! The Royal Symphony concert, which has reached it’s seventh year being a part of the Royal Show, is the magical fusion of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and “Music Revival”, in association with the Royal Show.
Conducted by Russian-born Naum Rousine, and introduced by Andy Caspostagno, who is well known for his commentating on Supersport, this spectacular show will be one you should not miss.
Popular favourite Federico Freschi, the powerful baritone voice behind the symphony, will be featured alongside the impressive Myfanwy Price (oboe). Both are in a league of their own.
Some of the legendary sounds you will be hearing: Figaro’s comical aria ‘Largo al factotum’ from the ‘Barber of Seville’, ‘On the street where you live’ from ‘My Fair Lady’ and the emotionally uplifting ‘You Raise Me Up’.
Myfanwy will be heard performing to the sprightly ‘Allegro’ from none other than Mozarts Oboe Concerto.
Extensive seating will be provided in the Main Arena and on the Grandstands. It is recommended that hats and/or umbrellas are included in your ‘bring alongs’ should it be a warm day.
The concert has been made possible with support from First National Bank, The Witness andCoca-Cola.
