Pietermaritzburg is warming up for the biggest concert to hit the KZN Capital this decade. Aptly named The Sisonke Music Festival, it takes place on the final Sunday (2 June) of the 2019 Royal Show and brings together musicians and entertainers from around KZN and South Africa for an entertainment line-up not seen before in the region.
“We’re thrilled to be able to be hosting the Sisonke Music Festival that adds value to the local music scene. This will be a refreshing event that is professional, inspiring and brings together different personalities, whilst creating a new tradition that is Proudly Maritzburg” Says Stephanie February, festival organizer.
Added to this, The Sisonke Music Festival will also provide a platform for up and coming artists to share the stage with well-known South African artists.
A Battle of the DJs competition will kick-off the Sisonke Music Festival. Festival Organizer Alain Dalais says “The Battle of the DJ’s will be the ultimate platform for our awesome local DJ’s to showcase their skills and drop their beats, for the crowds to hear the music and move their feet! It will be the only scratch you’ll ever want!”
This is your opportunity to be a part of The Sisonke Music Festival. We are calling all RnB, Hip Hop and House DJs from across KZN to compete to see who’s the best on the 1s and 2s with the top winner walking away with a music bursary and other amazing prizes. Each DJ will get a 5-8minute set to show their ability and crush the crowd. Entrants will need to display their passion, determination and technical ability.
