The Honey Hall at Pietermaritzburg’s Royal Agricultural Showgrounds was built in 1988, and is operated by the KwaZulu-Natal Bee Farmers Association, on behalf of the Royal Agricultural Society. In 2016, the KwaZulu-Natal Bee Farmers Association – founded in 1909 – celebrated their 107th anniversary.
Acknowledged to be the premier apiarian display venue in the country, the Honey Hall is utilised by bee farmers not only to display their produce but also as an educational facility. To compliment the competitive nature of participation, where all aspire to producing the ‘best on Show’, the hall also caters for sales.
