Big Beat Productions Royal Show 2010

Since humble beginnings in 1996, Big Beat Productions has grown steadily and has experienced exponential growth since 2006.  We consider ourselves a regional staging company, able to provide sound, lighting, video, image, staging, power & AV to music promoters, hotels, conference venues, event organisers, large and small sporting events, trade shows, government departments, motor dealerships, entertainment venues and retail organisations.  Based in Pietermaritzburg, we provide a one-stop solution for any event, with a selection of sub-contracting companies who handle specialised services like translation systems and the like.  Most of our work is within the province of KZN but we have travelled as far as George, Johannesburg and Mozambique in the past.

Big Beat are proud of our ongoing relationship with the Royal Show, as one of their preferred (technical) suppliers. We conduct business at the RAS throughout the year, mostly in the conferencing market, and assist management with the main stage acts and associated logistics for the Royal Show held late in May every year. We have a very exciting line-up for the 2010 show, which will cater for a broad range of taste and appeal.  Apart from the Military Tattoo and the Lippizanners, we are going to be working with some of the country’s top artists, bands and radio stations. Some of the events we have done at the Showgrounds in the past include the current Premier of KZN’s inaugural gala dinner, the opening ceremony for the KZN legislature, trussing for the SA leg of the world BMX supercross event, Freshlyground, Prime Circle amongst many others.

Big Beat continually reinvests in the company by expanding our sound, lighting and staging inventory.  Recently we invested in 24 square meters of LED Star-cloth - an ideal backdrop for fashion shows, live bands & cabaret shows where a colour-changing background adds a magical effect.  Each LED globe can be programmed to create thousands of colour shades, sequences and degrees of brightness.  The unit can even run on sound-to-light which will require no programming at all.  We have also expanded our digital mixing capacity and specialised microphone inventory for the upcoming Concert in the Park, which will feature the full KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.

We are a company who take immense pride in our work, and have struck a good balance between the calibre of our staff and the capacity of the equipment.  Please take a look at our recently revised web site (www.bigbeat.co.za) for further information.  We look forward to working with you in the future!
