"Throughout its history, ‘The Royal’ has had the privilege of hosting merchants and businessmen who recognise the benefits and harmony of interacting with one another, the agricultural sector and the general public.

Today the Show is the largest mixed exhibition incorporating a fully-fledged agricultural component on the continent of Africa. Not only does this include the exposition of some of the country’s finest livestock and agricultural equipment but also a range of ancillary activities and displays covering the entire industrial, commercial and service sectors within the province.

Parking
The two areas directly under the control of the Royal Agricultural Society – at R15 per vehicle - will be the Voortrekker Sports Fields (entered via Chief Albert Luthuli Street [ex Commercial Road] and exited via Cordwalles Roads) with a capacity of approximately 2900 and the Townhill Hospital field abutting the main security gate (entered and exited via Hyslop Road) with a capacity of approximately 300.  Street parking in the vicinity should adequately cater for a further 200 vehicles within 600 metres of the showgrounds.  Based on past years, it is anticipated that this should amply cater for all visitors.

Parking for the disabled can be accessed via the paid public parking entrance at the Voortrekker Sportsfield.  Any vehicle carrying a disabled person and displaying a bone fide disabled sticker will be directed to an area nearest the Voortrekker gate, which in turn is located some 40 metres from Gate 2 of the Royal Showgrounds.   Disabled persons can also be dropped off in the lay bye outside Gate 2 and the vehicle then parked on the Voortrekker Sportsfield.

Show Programmes - 2010 programs are currently being compiled - entry forms and prize schedules are now available via the Royal Show website links as below.
